Z is for Zoom!

It is with great sadness that I introduce the last letter of our A to Z blog hop: the letter Z. Or as they say in Australia: Zed.

A to Z blog hop at Patterings.
Z is for Zoom! Which is my favorite thing to do. I love go to FAST. Unless I’m running. Then it’s not zoom but doom. But as long as there are other mechanized motors involved, fast is my favorite.

fast

Now, I realize there are other kinds of zoom. Such as the zoom lens on a camera–

zoom

Or the zoom button on your computer that makes font or pics larger–

zoom-in-iconBut that’s not the kind of zoom I mean.

I mean the type of zoom that makes your heart beat faster, right in your throat, and makes you feel extremely alive.

Here are some creatures that ZOOM!

People who zoom:

Ever noticed how fast money can zoom and disappear?

Money

If you don’t think money zooms — just go balance your checkbook. Go ahead. I’ll wait…

Welcome back!

As those of you who know me already know, my favorite way to zoom is on my motorcycle. I’m missing the feel of the wind on my face during these cold winter months, but rest assured, I’m plotting my riding strategy, drooling over maps and out-of-the-way riding destinations.

  1. Seriously, there’s something about being on a motorcycle that makes you want to go faster. The sound of the engine combined with the freedom of no steel box around you. Love it! Oh, and I chuckled at your “pregnant pause.” 🙂

  2. I laughed when I saw Linda’s picture, but you are SO right. She ZOOMS!! 🙂

I’m ready for Spring. Sooooo ready. Not so I can ride (never done more than sat on a bike!) but so I can get out with my camera. That’s my kind of zooming. 🙂

Taking my camera is one of my favorite parts of riding. I really want one of those GoPro cameras! Maybe someday. I don’t have a decent camera right now. It’s on my list of things to get SOON.

  3. Great post, Karla. And I loved the pic of Linda–she makes Warp speed look like strolling! I don’t do too much zooming, but time does, and I can’t seem to stop it LOL! Oh, and my cat does something called zoomies; I looked it up. It’s when they go spastic for no reason and run all over the house. 🙂

  4. Great post! I’m still grinning. Love the Star Trek zoom and of course the pregnant pause… and I’m glad your agent zooms, if I had an agent I’d want her to zoom too! 😉 I’m a biker zoomer as you know and I’m a lucky one, I can ride all year long in So Cal. But planning trips sounds like a blast!
PS, my cats do zoomies too Kate!

You are SO BLESSED to live in beautiful So. Cal! I’ve never been there but it’s on my bucket list. Can’t imagine not living where it’s always warm. Never have. But I bet it’s fun!

Oh no kidding. Time zooms more and more. I believe it’s a fulfillment of prophecy. What do you think? Either way, I believe Jesus is coming soon! Talk about ZOOMING! Twinkle of the eye stuff! Woot!!

  5. I agree with Davalynn that time zooms too fast! And Linda Glaz does zoom!
How does she get it all done? I’m going to enjoy zooming around in my new used car this winter–at least on the days there isn’t too much snow and the roads aren’t too slippery. 🙂

  6. I remember the thrill of riding a wave on a boogie board, and riding a bike downhill. More recently, roller coasters. Fun post.

I’ve never gotten to surf. I’d love to. But I’ve never lived near an ocean nor been near one long enough to learn. I bet it’s a blast. I can’t do roller coasters. I love the speed, just not the going downhill thing. Can’t handle it. I guess that makes me a bad candidate for the space program!
